Interactive Data Painting BMW Brilliance factory, China

Again a nice collaboration between Studio TISH and yfx lab!

Visitors could immerse themselves in the captivating digital environment that brings BMW's manufacturing journey to life. We have simplified the process into five stages (press, body, paint, assembly & logistics), represented by lines, to show how car parts are assembled. This interactive art piece is a data-driven artwork, a painting of sorts, that illustrates the abstract aspects of car assembly.

We took the data colors of the BMW iconic cars from 1960 to 2021. The unique LED canvas explores the challenge and possibilities of the digital age, where humans, technology and data comes together to create a new experience for the visitor. Visitors could admire the moving art piece or could stand in front of it and interact with it.

The artwork showcases the manufacturing and assembly process of a BMW car through beautiful patterns of lines. It invites visitors to the "BMW Brilliance Digital Plant" event at the BMW Shen Yang factory in China to appreciate the art side of technological innovation. By blending nature and technology, it sparks conversations about how humans and machines can work together harmoniously.
